(As much of the book is recommended here, this is better read from the Bible. Hyperlinks are therefore not provided - PN)

This letter of St. Peter, abounding in passages of great beauty and spirituality, is reproduced in full with the exception of a brief passage.

The church he is addressing is one which has already suffered persecution and is even then suffering. He seeks to bring encouragement and consolation to his readers by assuring them that Christ who suffered is with them in their sufferings.

I Peter 1.v.1 to 2.v.25, 3.vv.8-17, 4.vv.1-19 and 5.vv.1-14
